The chkdsk command is used to scan the file system on a disk and check the volume for logical and physical errors but it does not correct errors. If we used chkdsk command with a parameter, chkdsk fix any errors on the volume.
Follow these simple steps to fix errors on your drive other than C drive.- Type in cmd (or command prompt) in the search box in your taskbar.
- Right-click command prompt and select run as administrator.
- Type chkdsk E: /f (change drive letter number as shown on computer. In this example it is mentioned as E:) and hit Enter.
